  • Reward people for recycling.

  • Give a $500 fine if  they drop rubbish.
  • If someone drops rubbish put a skull and crossbones stamp on their forehead.

    I like to see that you are thinking creatively about what can be done to keep New Zealand beautiful. I think that the idea of rewarding people for recycling is a great idea. What kind of reward would you suggest?

    In my experience, fining people can also work however I would stay away from the 'skull and crossbones' idea as this would likely upset people and/or anger them. I have generally found that the most effective way of motivating people to do the right thing is to offer them a positive reward!

    Speaking of rewards, I am looking forward to coming to Stonefields early in Term 3 to hand out the prizes and awards for participants (like yourself!) in the Winter Learning Journey. I'll touch base with Mr Baker to find a good time for my visit.
