Only males are allowed to ascend to chiefdom in a Maori tribe in New Zealand. This ancient custom is upset when the child selected to be the next chief dies at birth. However his twin sister, Pai, survives. At age 12, she enlists the help of her grandmother and the training of her uncle to claim her birthright. 1.Possums are a serious pest animal in New Zealand and a threat to our native forests for e.g They eat leaves off our native tress and the flowers that bloom on them.
2. They eat, eggs, birds, insects and snails and in eating these things they are damaging native wildlife that belongs NZ and threatens our native wildlife to go extinct.
3.They eat flowers off our fruit trees which means half the fruit is gone and stopping fruit companies.

Once found right throughout New Zealand, they are now restricted to predator-free offshore islands.
what they eat
The Tuatara is a carnivorous animal, meaning that the Tuatara only eats other animals in order to survive. The Tuatara primarily preys on insects, beetles, spiders, birds eggs, frogs and small reptiles and mammals.
