I liked Rangitoto the beast because you could see all of NZ from the top of the mountain and the cave systems that went every where, also you never knew where you were going to pop out.

New Zealand’s European pioneers were brave, rugged and independent. Before  establishing farms. They had to first clear the land a painful and sometimes dangerous job. Their isolation and exposure to the elements forced these early New Zealanders to become hardy and multi-skilled.
